Finance Manager Fiona Smith
Keen to continue and build on CSIA’s commercial approach to managing the business and maximising value for Industry, Fiona Smith joins the team as Finance Manager. Fiona has 15 years’ experience across a range of industries including hotel management, retail, foreign exchange and state government nationally and internationally. She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Fiona supports practical decision making and action based on accurate and useful financial information.
Manager Industry Excellence Melissa Dower
Melissa Dower joins the team as Manager Industry Excellence working with Industry and government on the Excellence Framework for Child Safe Organisations, Inclusion Ready, Resilience and Business Continuity Planning and the Business Maturity Scorecard. Melissa comes to CSIA from the Fraser Coast Regional Council where she was leading the community development and engagement team. She has worked in management roles in community development, stakeholder and engagement management, community services teaching and project management.
Project Officer Harriet Bevitt
As the Specialist Homelessness Services Project team delivers on its next phase Harriet Bevitt joins the team in the Project Officer role. Harriet focused on homelessness in her final year of university before moving into policy and advocacy in the child and family services sector, organisational capacity building for child safeguarding, situational risk and child safety regulation.
Project Officer, VET Industry Advisory Program Jamie Brown
Jamie Brown consults and engages with Industry on education, training and skills issues and provides advice and feedback to DESBT on the needs of the sector. With 13 years’ experience in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Industry, Jamie has run two Registered Training Organisations and worked as a facilitator and program designer. He has worked as a project manager on workplace training projects across a range of industries including Aged Care and Community Services and as a Consultant and Skills Advisor, advising organisations on training and skills development.
Regional Coordinator, Boosting the Local Care Workforce Program Natalie Palelei
Following on from leading the WorkAbility Qld Jobs Roadshow development, Natalie Palelei joins the Boosting the Local Care Workforce Program as Regional Coordinator for Gold Coast and South West Queensland. Natalie has over 20 years’ experience across workforce development, Vocational Education and Training (VET) management, program development, service management and service delivery across disability and the Community Services Industry. A serial networker and connector, Natalie’s role on the program contributes to building capacity, stakeholder relationships and partnerships to achieve strategic goals and outcomes.
Grants Officer Tom Bligh
With the growth in identified opportunities for Industry at CSIA experienced grants and tender writer Tom Bligh joined the team as Grants Officer. Passionate about the not-for-profit sector, Tom is experienced in grants funding coordination and providing high-level assistance in planning for and accessing additional income streams.
Projects Support Officer Fay Whittaker
Fay Whittaker joins the team as Project Support Officer providing administrative and logistical support across all CSIA’s project teams and business units. Fay has more than eight years’ experience across government and NGOs delivering community development initiatives in regional and remote Australia and has recently joined us from the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector. Fay has a background in media communications and is passionate about helping to close the gap for Australia’s First Nations people.
Events and Marketing Officer Melissa Aitken
Melissa joins the CSIA Marketing and Communications team to provide support across CSIA’s program of work. She has 15 years’ experience in human resources at local government level and five years event management experience including running her own event styling business.
