Being able to continue delivering services to people, including some of our most vulnerable, has been a challenge during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In particular, the spotlight was on the Community Services Industry workforce needs to meet the COVID-19 safety and health requirements.

Recent directives from Queensland Health around aged care and disability accommodation has changed their workforce needs.

These directives include:

  • Accommodation providers to limit staff working across sites to minimise cross contact potential
  • Residential aged care facilities now need to plan for a potential surge workforce to continue meeting the needs of vulnerable people in the pandemic.

The reality is that it’s not just these sectors that need to plan for a ready workforce across a range of roles.
