During the past five years of the 2016-21 Strategy CSIA was a strategy partner, delivering projects with the support of the Office for Women examining gender parity on community services boards; building regional women’s leadership; creating pathways for the next generation of women leaders; and on the domestic and family violence advisory committee.

In this time, we have listened to what Industry needs to support a better Queensland for women and girls.

We also acknowledge the tremendous collective consultation of the Wiyi Yani U Thangani project and that the rights, needs and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and girls must be addressed in the new Strategy.

As Wiyi Yani U Thangani states, First Nations women and girls are strong, brave, determined and resilient—they have remarkable skills, knowledge and boundless potential.

After consultation with Industry CSIA submitted what we heard to the Queensland Government’s consultation for a new Queensland Women’s Strategy.
