Calling on Aboriginal leaders, business owners, carers and entrepreneurs – the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Business Development Seminar Series is here for you.

CSIA is working with four Aboriginal business experts and their organisations to deliver a series of online and face to face seminars in ten regional and remote communities across Queensland.

This initiative has been made available through a collaboration with the Department of Seniors, Disability Services and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and the Commonwealth Government.

CSIA CEO Belinda Drew said the seminar series aimed to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to become NDIS service providers.

“This series, of more than 30 sessions, is focused on increasing the participation and growth of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander NDIS service provider market.

“The co-designed seminars bring together the business expertise of our project partners with their understanding of the NDIS to work with communities to grow NDIS service providers.

“This project is important because Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities know how to meet their needs, our role is to make sure they have access to the information and support they need.”

The online seminars will provide communities with an introduction to the NDIS and to identify NDIS service provider opportunities. The in-person sessions will draw on the facilitators business expertise to explore the NDIS, terminology and building a business as a NDIS service provider.

Who should attend?

These seminars are for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their communities. Anyone who is interested in finding out more, exploring the NDIS and either building a new business or expanding an existing one into the NDIS service provider market.
