Isla is part of the Boosting the Local Care Workforce Program where she focuses on the North Queensland Region between Bowen and Cape York. She is passionate about working alongside regional and remote employers. Together they roll up their sleeves, have a yarn and solve problems for better outcomes.
She brings to her role an extensive background that includes:
- an Honours Degree in Anthropology from the University of Queensland
- delivering early childhood intervention and prevention programs
- action research within a cultural inclusion context
- workforce planning and development programs across the Community Services Industry.
In her role at CSIA, Isla helps service providers to attract, retain and optimise their Disability and Aged-Care workforces.
She helps these organisations to gain a competitive edge by enabling them to identify growth and collaboration opportunities. This builds business strength off the back of issues and gaps in the local markets.
She also analyses those issues and gaps in local markets and feeds it into the policy work carried out by CSIA.
