Isla has been a trusted member of the Boosting the Local Care Workforce team at CSIA, as well as a driven leader of health and community services commissioning for outcomes projects with CSIA.  For the better part of 2022 she led a demonstration pre-employment program for the disability and aged care sector through the Local Jobs Program recovery funding.

Isla has a strong background in working with rural and remote communities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island, and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse and bi-lingual peoples. Isla has high-level skills in industry and community engagement, workforce and leadership capacity building and facilitation.

She brings to her role an extensive background that includes:

  • an Honours Degree in Anthropology from the University of Queensland
  • delivering early childhood intervention and prevention programs
  • action research within a cultural inclusion context
  • workforce planning and development programs across the Community Services Industry

Isla is passionate about applying community development approaches to build the capacity of community and industry alike.  It takes a village.
