Guest Speaker Ingrid Burkett

Hear from internationally renowned Associate Professor Ingrid Burkett, Co-Director at the Yunus Social Business Centre (Griffith University) and previously Director of Learning and Systems Innovation at The Australian Centre for Social Innovation. Ingrid is a social designer, designing processes, products and knowledge that deepen social impact and facilitate social innovation. She has worked in the community sector, government and with the private sector and believes that each of these sectors has a valuable role to play in social innovation.

Panel Session

The next generation of women in leadership in Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday will be celebrated in a panel session facilitated by Cr Amanda Camm. The forum will focus on the skills, knowledge and support required to be a successful industry leader.

Sarah Bon

Sarah Bon is Founder and President of The Peter Project Inc. The Peter Project’s objective is to open the important conversation on suicide prevention and mental Health awareness. Through trekking the Kokoda to walking from Bowen to Cairns, Sarah has raised over $25,000 to support families who have lost loved ones to suicide. Her next challenge to run from Bowen to Collinsville will raise funds and awareness for training workers in mining, an industry with an extremely high rate of suicide.

Jessica Bugeja

Jessica Bugeja is an experienced Socio-Economic Development Manager with over a decade’s experience in strategic local government roles. She was awarded Isaac Young Citizen of the Year in 2010 following her work in recording the oral and visual history of Clermont. Jessica became Isaac Regional Council’s then-youngest manager at 25 years of age and currently holds the position of Manager Strategic & Business Development, Planning Environment & Community Services.

Frances Easton

Frances Easton is Senior Financial Advisor and Partner at Alman Partners True Wealth in Mackay. She has been part of the local Financial Planning Industry in Mackay for 22 years serving the local community in making smart decisions about money. Frances is a finalist in Money Management in the 2019 Financial Planner of the Year Awards. Her weekly segment on local ABC radio provides education to the public on topical money matters. Frances is on the board of the Mackay Community Foundation which will soon be launching Vital Signs, enabling community to have conversations identifying trends, local priorities and opportunities to focus resources to have the greatest impact in the Mackay region.

Caitlin Roberts

Caitlin Roberts is Associate Director of Macrossan & Amiet Pty Ltd and the first female owner of the Mackay law firm. Along with her extensive legal experience, Caitlin is the Chairperson of Community Accommodation & Support Agency (CASA), a Director of the Zonta Club of Mackay and a Trustee of the Macrossan & Amiet Charitable Foundation supporting charities and deductible gift recipients in the Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac Local Authority Areas.
