The Community Services Data Alliance is an exciting Industry-led collaboration to bring together the data organisations collect about the business of community service delivery. It’s about finding a fair, safe and ethical way to aggregate this data and build more evidence to showcase the way we do business. The Data Alliance is another way that CSIA is advancing the Community Services Industry by doing business better. What will my organisation get out of being part of the Community Services Data Alliance? We tend to collect and define data differently. Having a common language and understanding through collective data will help us all speak in a more coherent way to the broader value of community organisations and to identify and respond to patterns and trends in the work we are doing. Collective data will provide Industry with insights to strengthen policy making that we cannot achieve individually as organisations. Across areas such as workforce, investment, fundraising and outcomes we have a powerful story to tell about the business of community service delivery. It’s only together that we can unlock the potential of this data and the ways it empowers us to share our story to government, stakeholders and the wider community. How do I take part in the Community Services Data Alliance? The first step is about Industry coming together around shaping this initiative. To be part of designing the Data Alliance simply put forward an Expression of Interest. CSIA is working in partnership with the Griffith University’s Regional Innovation Data Lab who have the expertise and ability to store, aggregate and understand Industry data in a way we will benefit from. The qualified team from the Lab have extensive experience across similar initiatives as well as having established ethics practices. They are able to act as a neutral platform bringing academic rigor to compare like with like and achieve a holistic view. Is my organisation’s data safe?
