Resilience Maturity Project
The Community Services Disaster Resilience Maturity project (the Resilience Maturity Project) works to capture, learn from, and build on our Industry’s substantial knowledge about disaster resilience.
CSIA is working in partnership with the Queensland Reconstruction Authority and six regional community services organisations to create tools designed to improve your disaster resilience and build our capacity as an Industry.
We are working together to refine and test a self-assessment tool and playbook that guides you through how your organisation thinks about resilience at a strategic level, identifies opportunities and tracks progress towards resilience maturity.
What is Resilience Maturity?
Resilience maturity is the ability for your organisation to respond to, learn from, and potentially thrive as a result of business disruption during a disaster. When you have resilience maturity your organisation is in a stronger position after a disaster by taking the learnings and using them to your advantage.
Resilience maturity means your business continuity is assured and you’re able to swiftly return to business as usual with as little impact as possible on your organisation, workforce and people you serve.
Your journey towards resilience maturity starts with knowing how to measure your organisation’s resilience today and the steps you need to take to become more resilient in the future.
Industry-led solutions
We know that community services organisations are integral to disaster resilience, as well as response and recovery.
The Community Services Disaster Resilience Maturity project takes an Industry-led approach through partnering with:
- Centacare Far North Queensland
- Centacare North Queensland
- Greater Whitsundays Communities
- Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre
- Capricorn Community Development Association.
We acknowledge that during times of disaster, communities often reach out to their local neighbourhood centre. With this in mind Neighbourhood Centres Queensland is also supporting the project.
Our partner organisations have substantial knowledge about resilience that we can capture, learn from, and build on as an Industry.
We will work together to prototype and refine a disaster resilience maturity tool and playbook containing practical, evidence-based actions.
The Community Services Disaster Resilience Maturity project is just one of the ways CSIA is working with Government and Industry to help you do business better.
